[Adult Class] Week 9

Updated: Jan 26, 2019

Summary of Korean Class 11/4 and Homework

Good afternoon!

Homework for this week was already provided on Sunday, but I guess I didn't make clear what it is.

This week's homework is to memorize all the verbs we learned in class & finish the last page of handout -- using the rules we learned to apply the change of verbs' forms into present polite and past polite.

To recap, we learned a couple more 'rule's of verb. We learned how to make polite past & polite past form of verbs that does not end with 'ㅏ' stem. The examples were 먹다(to eat), 뛰다 (to run), etc.

The other rule we learned as the verbs that are combination of noun and a verb 하다 (to do). '하다' can be used standalone meaning 'to do', but it can also be combined with a noun to now mean 'to do (something)'. For example, '요리' is a noun, meaning 'cooking'. If you combine '요리' with '하다', now it means 'to do cooking', or 'to cook'.

These two rules we went over are very straightforward.I hope it was not as confusing as it may actually sound for you guys!

Please go over the rules thoroughly  so you don't get confused among rules and keep practicing so you're used to it! Knowing many verbs and their usage will make you able to finally 'speak' what you actually want to say in Korean, and it will definitely make your Korean study more enjoyable and interesting.

Please try to finish the past page of handout from Sunday and let me know if you have any questions!

See you guys on Sunday.

Best regards,

Yuna
